Dr. Sparky Electrical Service was not built in a boardroom. It was built on friendship, hard work, and the belief that homeowners deserved better. In July 2022, Brayan Soto and Derek Gibson made the decision to leave their current jobs and start their own business with nothing more than a truck, trailer, and their tools. Vhek Electrical Solutions LLC was born. Before Dr. Sparky Electrical Service, Vhek Electrical Solutions LLC. brought premium electrical solutions to the Triad. The early days of business were simple. It was two electricians, two best friends, and a lot of determination. Long days and lasting relationships with customers lead to them earning a reputation for quality work and honesty.
As the business continued to grow, they began to notice something. While the majority of their work was for the commercial sector, they realised that the residential jobs they were doing were the ones they felt made a greater impact. Their passion was in helping homeowners solve problems, improve their homes, and feel confident about their electrical systems.
This is where Dr. Sparky Electrical Service was born! We treat electrical service the way a great doctor approaches patient care. We diagnose problems, provide clear solutions, and deliver reliable results that homeowners can trust. Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, Dr. Sparky serves Greensboro, Asheboro, and High Point, as well as the surrounding communities.
Today, Dr. Sparky is more than two electricians and a truck. We are a dedicated team of professionals who share the same passion for service and craftsmanship that started it all.

Derek Gibson
Co-Owner
Derek Gibson is a licensed Master Electrician with over 20 years of experience providing professional residential electrical services. As a third-generation electrician, Derek grew up around the trade and developed a deep respect for quality workmanship, safety, and doing the job right the first time.
Starting his career as an electrical helper, Derek worked his way up through every level of the industry. Through years of hands-on training and real-world experience, he earned his Master Electrician license and built a strong reputation for reliable, high-quality electrical work.
He co-founded Dr. Sparky with his best friend to create a different kind of electrical company—one built on strong values, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to both employees and homeowners. Their mission is to deliver top-rated electrical services while promoting a positive work culture, teamwork, and a healthy work-life balance for their team.
When he’s not serving customers, Derek enjoys spending time with his family. His wife and son are the most important part of his life and the driving force behind his dedication to building a business that reflects his values—hard work, integrity, and putting people first.
Brayan Soto

With 10 years of experience in the electrical industry, Brayan is passionate about providing high-quality service while building lasting relationships with every customer he serves. As co- owner of Dr. Sparky LLC, his goal is to deliver honest, reliable electrical work and create an experience that makes customers feel confident they never need to call another electrician again.
One of his greatest accomplishments has been building a business where he can lead the culture, values, and standard of service firsthand. He takes pride in treating every home with care and every customer like family.
Outside of work, Brayan enjoys spending time with his daughter, Allison, who is his biggest motivation and the reason behind everything he does. He also enjoys playing soccer, working out, and living an active lifestyle centered around his core values: Health, Family, Business
